We cannot emphasize enough the importance of having proper winter protection at all time especially during winter season like this. If your local night temperature falls below 45F you will need to protect your plant(s) with heat pack. And they can be purchased here -> https://www.etsy.com/listing/781551923/uniheat-72-or-96-hour-heatpack-for
Heatpack will work properly only when the package is properly insulated. When you purchase a heatpack we will will ship your plant in a fully insulated foam box for proper temperature retention as generated by the heatpack. For large items such as upright cactus 2 - 3 heatpack may be needed. When your region is under severe winter weather below freezing, we will hold off and delay the shipping to a more appropriate weather and reschedule your shipment. We will not be able to cover your purchase due to death on arrival (DOA) due to cold in absence of proper winter protection as that have occurred in the past. We thank you for your understanding.
We carry premium quality albo, please see our premium mother stock plant for example.
Please, everyone, don't let someone steal your tropical dreams of getting a legitimate, premium and fully robust Albo. Our rooted Albo cuttings are some of the safest, the most healthiest, and most robust cutting you can buy from the market. Most people sell cuttings but rarely fully rooted premium plants. We offer full length premium cuttings that we ship in 1 gallon pot deliver to you in top conditions. Our cuttings have no brown spot and it's properly handled since it first arrived at our facility.
Far too often we seen Albo listing that doesn't match the price tag, it doesn't match the quality being delivered for the cost paid. Many are resellers who clip you their worse cutting to begin with - in our opinion it's not really worth it. Ultimately it's the hobbyist that's hurting receiving substandard cuttings that put them months behind of good and vital growth.
We want to educate you before you make your investment on Albo. The reason why you've arrived at this listing is you are looking for a premium plant you can invest in. Even if you don't become our customer, we want you to take a few notes home before consider buying your next Albo.
When shipping for an Albo cutting, we come up with the following dos and donts". If you can navigate thru any listing with the following things in mind, it will likely that you will end up with getting a pretty good product if you adhere to the following considerations:
DON'TS:
❌ Don't buy a cutting / plant with incomplete, torn, or brown foliage (they are likely someone who doesn't know how to root them in optimal condition)
❌ Don't buy a node with no leaves (they are very difficult to root and have a long setback)
❌ Don't buy poorly variegated cuttings or plant (what you see is likely a good projection of future growth)
❌ Don't overpaid because you want a cutting ( what you pay is what you get)
❌ Don't buy a single leave cutting (they are someone who bought a full cutting then section them up by leave for maximum profit)
❌ Don't buy poor conditioned plant (buy from a reputable seller who bought direct from commercial supplier wholesale, don't buy cuttings that have gone thru 2 or three hands)
❌ Don't buy a plant that has been sitting for too long (poor health plant takes a lot of energy to recover to good health)
❌ Don't buy from arrogant / sloppy seller (quality of service will reflect in quality and level of support in case accident happens, avoid slow / unresponsive sellers that don't care)
DOS:
✔️ Buy cuttings from reputable seller with good stock (cutting should have healthy solid root with no brown spot on leave or root rot)
✔️ Buy good looking long stem full cuttings (even though they cost premium it will end up rewarding you with good healthy vigorously growth in long run.
✔️ Buy top node if you must buy sectional (don't get internode or middle section of the stem with only 1 leave)
✔️ Ask seller some diligent questions (in a way so to qualify the the seller knowing you are getting quality stock, ask for pictures, ask for size, length, and health of plant, ask for method of shipment)
✔️ Be on the friendly side of supportive sellers (things do happen during shipping, it's best you be polite as sellers due with many unanticipated logistics out of their control that could happen during shipping)
✔️ Pay shipping upgrade in order to minimize transit time (minimize transplant shock or damage of shipment from extended unanticipated temp exposure or shipping conditions)
✔️ Pay for insurance to protect your investment (albo cuttings aren't cheap and when it's loss during shipment, at least you have a recourse method)
✔️ Don't ship to spot that are prone to thief (pay for required signature to release service if you live an an apt where they will simply drop your package at a common lobby)
✔️ Pay for premium cuttings whenever possible (this will ensure vigorously growth so you can get happily growing)
✔️ Buy heatpack to product your plant if you know during the course of shipment your location is 50F or below.
As for our fully rooted cutting, what you see is what you get. You can choose from one the plant that's ready to be shipped. We only sell the exact plant we photographed and what you see is what you get. We treat our cuttings with the utmost care to ensure they are delivered to your hand in the freshest condition possible. We process them ASAP within 24 hours of shipment arrival. Our rooted cutting is some of the safest investment you can make within the floral industry when you purchase a rooted Albo plant from us.
How we root our cuttings:
Much too often people are seeing their cutting rot or leave turning brown. It's always sad and disappointing when you spent hundred of dollars just so you kill your own investment.
Leaves turn brown because they are not getting adequate condition to feed themselves during the rooting process, they cannot properly sustain themselves so they have to give up part of itself in order to survive. Under inappropriate condition the entire section of the cutting will shut down and rot completely.
The most vital process to root an albo cuttings is head. Our cuttings is dip in normal water at 80F and it never stay before. We use a aquarium thermostat with temperature sensor to precisely control the temp of the cuttings. When it's all said and done, under this temp condition, most cutting would shoot out new roots within 2 weeks. Most cuttings turn brown likely due to inadequate temp control causing the plant to turn brown and rot
After we seen new root growth, we are half way thru our rooting process, and it's a very good sign to see new white root growth shooting out of the brown old roots. During this period of high temp exposure, it's not abnormal for some of the older roots to become soft and melt. But as long as there's new root growth, the cutting is not likely to die and will move on to its growing phase.
When we see new root growth after 2 weeks in 80F water, it's time that we trim off any rotted old brown roots and plant the cuttings into an appropriate potting mix to carry on next phase of growing process. For all of our cuttings we've used the following mix:
50% coco coir
20% perlite
20% brown Canadian sphagnum peat moss
5% sand
5% Slow release fertilizer (we use Nutricote 13-11-11 twelve month slow release)
As a result, you see that our mix is a very beautiful looking golden brown potting mix with speckle of white perlite throughout, this mix we've found thru trial and error has provided us some of the best growth we've seen with extraordinary moisture retention capability). You can see the picture of our mix from one of the listing picture above.
After our cuttings are planted, we put our cuttings inside a optimal growth chamber where the new roots will continue to grow. At this point it's very important that we achieve optimal root growth so that the roots can start to deliver the nutrients it needs to promote new growth. In 2 - 3 weeks the new rootlets will continue to stem off from the tap root filling out most of the pot.
When you receive the rooted cuttings in 1 gallon, please do not repot as the roots will continue to grow and fit itself inside the 1 gallon. An undesired distribution of new roots will set the plant back for weeks. Let the plant grow itself out inside this 1 gallon and keep regular maintenance of water and light feed as usual. If you can, try to duplicate our growth / warm house setup and put your plant in that setup for about 3 - 4 weeks until the roots fully establish itself for growth. If you follow our instructions your plant will be off to a very good start with no lost of growth time during shipment and shock from shipment will be kept at minimal.
You also notice, our cuttings have not suffered any lost of leave or browning of leave. The less transplant shock it goes thru the faster it will recover from the cutting and rooting process and get its feet back into growing. We believe that when we deliver this rooted cutting to our customer, we put our customer 6 - 8 weeks ahead of the curve when compared to them buying the cuttings and start from scratch.
You can consider repotting your Albo in 6 months or until when roots fill most inside surface of the 1 gallon pot.
So here you have it, this is the way we process all of our incoming cuttings with no delay. All our stocks are premiumly selected from top premium grower. We intend to deliver the premium cuttings at a fair price for dedicated hobbyist.
At Floral Exotica, we handle hundreds of cuttings per months and we've rarely lose any cuttings due to mishandle of incoming shipment.
